The Sex Lives of College Girls is an American teen comedy-drama television series created by Mindy Kaling. The series follows the lives of four 18-year-old freshman roommates at the fictional Essex College in Vermont, covering their lifestyle as they deal with the struggles and hardships of college and adulthood. It was designed by an incredible designer I loved working with, Angelique Clark, who also designed the show "Broad City". Angelique helps set the perfect tone for the show, reflecting each girl's individual personality while maintaing the visual identity of the rich heratage of this fictional Ivy League school.
The North Conn Hallway was built from scratch to mimic an established, prestigious, ivy league school. This dorm hallways had to appear rich and vibrant with architecture deeply rooted in history. To achieve this we studied various ivy league school hallways and dorm rooms to help create a realistic setting.
I worked with the team to create aged marble flooring, banners, plaques, and stained glass windows.

The original sips cafe was established in Season 1 of the show on the UCLA campus coffee shop. After it wrapped, we were unfortunately no longer able to shoot on campus due to scheduling conflicts. So, the team had to recreate the cafe on a soundstage while matching the original as closely as possible.
Led by our designer Angelique Clark and incredible Art Director Luis Diaz, we painstakingly recreated every element of the original sips. From the flooring, to counter, windows, carpeting and even design on the table tops, we were able to make the transition smoothly.
Ozzie's Bistro Branding & City Street
For Ozzie’s Bistro we were going for an upscale bistro in a small New England town. These scenes were shot on the WB backlot where some of the most iconic scenes in history have been filmed. I was so excited to be part of this rich tradition of television and movie history.
Multiple storefronts could be seen in the background so every adjacent shop had to also be dressed. We created simple branding for a flower shop, dry cleaner, and dress shop in addition to Ozzie's. This included branded signage, window vinyls, and hours signs.
